iCOA’s SMALL GIANTS are the businesses that believe Small is Better, and PURPOSE as important as PROFIT, and most times, even more. Second to that is the ‘ Proudly African’ thread that has been woven through each of these businesses. They are drawn from the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME ) sector in Africa that’s a sizeable mass, incorporated in the formal and informal economies.
Their pan-African CEO-founders and leaders are making giant strides in progressing Africa’s growth narrative, prioritizing ideas and innovation.
2. Building A Healthier Future In Africa
The Global CareRight Plan is a multibillion-dollar global health infrastructure development strategy adopted by CareRight HealthCare and iCOA to invest in Africa’s emerging markets, increase economic opportunity, enhance regional connectivity, and embrace a brighter future together.
Kenya, East Africa’s Emerging Giant: A Model for Healthcare of the Future
At the heart of the Global CareRight Plan is the construction of a USD$ 350 million CareRight International Hospital in Nairobi. This is regarding the CareRight framework of Value-Based healthcare to restructure healthcare systems around Africa with the overarching goal of creating value for every African. Africa will need support to meet the challenges in developing a Comprehensive Health Insurance Coverage ( Single-Payer system model) that will provide outstanding care based upon Cooperation, compassion, and innovation principles. The new hospital will collaborate with Harvard Medical School Affiliates: Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital—the world’s top academic centers.
This new level of collaboration with the Government of Kenya will enable us to bring thousands of private investors into the Global CareRight Plan, including the hundreds of companies that encompass the entire global healthcare landscape, like pharmaceutical firms, healthcare service providers, profit-and-not-for-profits, and medical device companies. Undoubtedly, the Government of Kenya’s stamp of approval could help us coordinate the world’s participation in the Global CareRight Plan. The success of this philosophy in Kenya will be extended to less-developed countries throughout the world.
With the Kenyan Government’s support for the Global CareRight Plan, we will work in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Kenya’s development partners to strengthen Kenya’s resilience and response to disease outbreaks, as well as deliver world-class healthcare innovation and expertise resulting in a profound impact on the well-being of the Kenyan people.A partnership between the Government of Kenya and the Global CareRight Plan would eventually be a joint one, agreed to by the East African Community member states.
We call on the EAC partner states to get together, and with international support, to work out their own healthcare programs.A coalition of interests for healthcare and social development, for economic unity, and for political integration seems long overdue and a goal well worth pursuing. The Partnership will mark a significant milestone to fulfil our long- term commitment to provide world-class care to all patients in the East African Community, no matter where they live.
